As Long As DH Is Settled...

He's all tucked in watching the Cubs game, so I'll listen to it as I try to post a couple of cards. The summer heat is upon us, and we've had no rain for a couple of weeks other than a 30 second sprinkle the other day. Normally, I wouldn't water the grass, but since we're having Lizzy's high school graduation party here next month, I've been doing the back and side yards. It looks pretty green compared to the neighbors on both sides. Where I'm not watering, we've got crunchy grass. Looking forward to Fall's cooler weather. So that's what it's doing around here, and since it's too hot to work in the flower beds much, I'm "stuck" inside crafting. Awwwww...isn't that just a shame??!! (not)

So I have two cards to share. I'm getting better at either working on one card for days and days (DH needs my caregiving skills fairly often), or getting them done really, really fast. First up, is one that I've made for the Uniko Challenge, where the ever wonderful Carol is GD. I took the sketch from The Heart Desires second challenge, so I guess I'll pop it in there too!

And mine looks like this:

Oh I wish you could see this in real life! It really is pretty.... Those are SSS flower stamps and dies, and a PS leaf die. I watercolored the blooms with my Ziggies, and added a bit of Stickles to their centers. Some PTI rainstones and a strip of AC glitter ribbon which was white, but I sponged on some ME Ocean ink just because. The sentiment is an NBUS from Jane's Doodles. EZPZ lemon squeezy!

Next I have a card for Cas(E) This Sketch and Happy Little Stampers

I kept this card pretty CAS (at least compared to my last post...).

More of that LF Guava cardstock for this, which I die cut using an MFT die, and tucked a journaling card (from that Archivers kit I bought) because it was so festive: falling confetti! A couple of strips of washi tape, and three yellow sequins finish it off.

Guess I'd better stop now. Don't want to keep you too long or you may not want to come back! Have a wonderful weekend, and happy dances everyone!

I love how you tell a story in your posts. I'm taking a break from cleaning to spend a few minutes with my MR. before I start up again..I am most likely the messiest crafter in the world..I have not quite learned the habit of putting away a project before starting 10 more..lol. We don't entertain, yet family will be here in a few days..and terror of terrors... I will have to clean the craft room too..It is cooler today in this neck of the woods, yay, as this Norwegian (descent) blooded gal is really not built for anything over 68. that really is my comfort level...So glad you are able to craft. I really need to craft this weekend.. hoping to make a sweet Bday card for a co=workers little girl that is having a mermaid themed party.. Wow, I had to buy a mermaid set, that is terrible (NOT!). I love the Neat & Tangled set and the half circle die with waves, so I got them -arrived yesterday..They sit here staring back at me wanting to be opened up. LOL. Bev, so grateful that you are a supporter and encourager of all, thanks so much for your kind words at the Virginia's View guest spot post, and in general you are always so VERY sweet! Thanks for joining in our personal challenge - the PNW crafters (my friends and I) at The Heart Desires!!! Hope to see you EVERY challenge!

Love the colours you have worked with and the little raindrops are so lovely!!!! Awesome card!!! Love the second card with it's great CAS design!!!! Such fun confetti paper and blue and white washi!!!! The sequins add just the right amount of sparkle!!! Wonderfully done!!!
Hope the weather will cool down soon and you will have a bit of rain!!!! Over here it's cold with a definite winter chill in the air, but most days are sunny - love to sit knitting in the sun or in front of the fire!!!!
Have a great day!!!!

Oh I am so happy that you are getting in to a routine. I tend to do things in shifts myself these days. Color something one day, cut it out another and then put together a card with the stuff I made whenever I can. (I always have a lot of "extras" to use later on if I need it!!) I love your card with the pretty pink blossoms. The pink you used is perfect. The second card with the die cut Happy Birthday is great take on the sketch. Loving your cards!!

Those SSS flowers are some of my favorite, Bev, and they look beautiful in the bright pink atop the aqua sparkle ribbon. Confetti (your polka dots) always say party to me so they look great behind the birthday die cut. I'm so glad you're getting some crafting time in.

No rain here either Bev and my grass is turning brown and getting crunchy too. We had been pretty lucky for a good while with the rain, now all the rain is going around us. One day it will be back and then I will be mowing lots again. lol I don't mind, I like to mow. Glad you are getting some crafty time in with the heat and such. Love your first card, the flowers are simply gorgeous and I love the sketch as well. Your take on it is fabulous! Your second card is amazing as well, I so love the simplicity of the sketch and your card. It is fun and festive!! Hugs, Brenda

How nice that Mr. can sit and enjoy the ball game while you squeeze a few cards in.
Take care and sending lots of hugs and prayers.

Great to see that you're getting some time in your creative zone, and that your hubby doesn't need you every minute (loving kindness is good, but taking a break is good too)! Not likely that you would scare us away, it's just wonderful to see you as you can. Lovely card, and the flowers are just gorgeous!

Glad to hear DH is giving you a break tonight;) it's hot here too, I went swimming with my GD at 9:30 am she couldn't wait to go in the pool and I don't put sunblock on her that early...my rule. Hope you get some rain. We could use it but never expect to get more than a day if any here in CA! Take care dear !

Seriously elegant, stunning, serene, all the good adjectives go to this design! The dainty little pearl accents are the perfect finishing touch!

And I loooooove the fun play of polka dots in your second card. Keep up the good work, Miss Bev!

It's been a dog's age since I've popped in for a visit and I'm so sorry about that. Your floral card is sooo beautiful. I have that stamp set and am always at a loss for how to color those flowers. I'm going to Pin this card so that I can study it and learn how to shade those blooms! Hugs!
