What I Should Be Doing...

Laundry. I should be doing laundry. But obviously I'm not. Got up early just to hang out in the craft room. After an hour's drive north yesterday (and home again) to have a little cookout at my sister's house, I had a feeling DH would be all tuckered out, and would be sleeping in today. He was, did, and I played and played in uninterrupted quiet. Ahhhhhh.... So naughty of me, I know, but what a feeling of calm. Now I've got some commenting to do, and I need to find my blender. I think it's in a box in the basement, and I really don't want to go down there, because then I'll feel obligated to get to some laundry. But my (as I like to call him) "third best girlfriend" Michael brought over about 500 pounds of tomatoes, and I need to get them chili ready. So maybe if I get a teeny-tiny bit of work done, I can still play in here.....Party Plan. I'm going with it!

I've got two cards today. The first one is for the Inspirational Challenge, where we're to use Primary Colors. Thought I'd pop this into SSS Monday Challenge, too, where we're directed to use a stamp.

Red, blue, yellow, check. Stamp(s). Check. The blue cardstock is from my scraps file, which delights me to no end! A piece of red striped paper from Simple Stories, and some PTI stamps. A smattering of yellow sequins, a ME scalloped edge die, and done.

And I fell in love with Curtain Call's inspiration photo, but alas, alack, I had no apple stamp (at least none that I wanted to use). This will also visit SSS Wednesday Challenge, as long as the Anything Goes is still in play.

Well, sometimes pears are green, aren't they? And besides, this set from WPlus9 hasn't seen much love lately.

You'll notice there's no sentiment on the front of this card. That's because "I think you're 'pear-fect'" was too big, and I really wanted to emphasize that pear. IRL, the pear really cool looking. I used the large pear die from this set, and just watercolored it with my Ziggies. I was going to fix the leaf, but decided it looked like a dying leaf from a fresh picked pear. An MFT circle die, and red and black starred scraps. Three black sequins and done. And since that stupid old laundry is nagging me (I can practically hear it), I'd better get on the stick. *sigh* Happy dances everyone!

Playing and playing doesn't make you naughty! It makes you a crafter. hehe! Your stripedy pop of a card is lovely and a perfect Hello design. And that perfectly colored fruit is the best substitute you could ask for in terms of an apple - it's perfectly colored!

Resist the laundry...it never goes away! I say make cards! Actually, you probably can do both...I'm happy you made cards first. (It's good to be in a good frame of mind when doing laundry!) Your cards are both fantastic, Bev...that pear looks real! I hope you have a great day!

As far as I am concerned, laundry can always wait!! Playing in the craft room when you have time to yourself is something you NEED to do!! I LOVE your first card with that fun red/white stripe paper paired with that adorable stamped front. I think using a pear is fine-you have the red and the green colors. Totally adorable card!!

Ahhh...your day sounds absolutely perfect. I love nothing better than a quiet morning when my kiddos and hubby are sleeping to go down and craft. That laundry can definitely wait! Both cards are just adorable! Love the bright colors, but that muted pear is just grand too! So happy that you got to play and let the DH sleep in :o)

You did right to forget that washing and play! I really like how you used the primary colours, so very bold and lots of detail but still very CAS-thanks for joining Ink.
And the colours of the pear really do look so real.
Have a good day x

Only 500lbs of tomatoes, I don't think we'll be seeing you for a while yet... though 'chili' ready does sound good! Your cards are so fab, such great CAS designs, right after my own heart!

You are far from naughty Bev! I'm so glad you got to play for a while in your craft room, you need that from time to time. The tomatoes sound nice too, will be so good come this winter in your chili or soups!! Love the cards, the "note" card is fabulous in our patriotic colors. I love that pear card, the pear looks amazing! I don't know how you colored it so perfectly, but it sure looks real, the polka dot paper matches the wrapper in the inspirational photo and the red for the candied apple and of course your green pear is the perfect color match of the apple showing out of the candied red ooy googy stuff! Just perfect! Or wait a perfect pear! lol Yes, pun intended. Now go tackle that laundry!!! Hugs, Brenda

Way more fun than laundry! Which is what I should be doing now, instead of getting caught up on my bloggy visits. That pear looks so delicious, and love your little note--reminiscent of an air mail letter.

Oh, the tough decisions we have to make? Should we do our chores or just play? Hope you found a satisfying balance!
So happy you found some time to create this morning! You shouldn't feel guilty for taking some time to play! Your fun cards will make someone very happy! That pear looks good enough to eat!

Wonderful cards, Bev! I especially love that sweet pear -- I was expecting an apple and was so pleased to be surprised! Wonderful take on the inspiration photo!

What you should be doing is exactly what you have done...spend some much deserved 'you time' crafting up some amazing cards! Naughty? Absolutely NOT!!!

Two delightful creations! I love the red, white & blue with a pop of yellow! Awesome design and a nice pairing of the scalloped border with the diagonal stripes. 2nd card - heck, it's got polkie dots, and a yummy pear so it's true love, love, love!!!

You know if you're too prompt with the laundry, the next load will just come round quicker ;) Me-time is far more important than laundry.
Love your cards, especially that pear - stunning colouring!

Crafting or laundry? Is there any debate that the crafting wins out every time (says she, who has a mountain of laundry sitting downstairs)! Glad you resisted the "lure of the load" and spent some time in your play room, because WOW! Two delights here, my friend! Your primary colours Just A Note: love it! So thrilled you shared it over at Inkspirational! Your pear...oh my! Gorgeous and so realistic! Your decision to leave that luscious fruit as the star of the stage is 'pear-fect'...it doesn't need to share the limelight with anything!
Hugs, love and misses~c
