Card Heavy Post

So I won't chatter one little bit. I'll get right to the cards, as I have four of them for today.

Let's start with my grandson's birthday card, which is heading over to the current Time Out Challenge where they're celebrating their third birthday. If you haven't, go wish them a 'happy birthday' and play along!

Did I mention they're offering prizes? You can tell by the above banner! The theme is:
Love and/or Friendship with the optional technique twist of spotlight stamping.

Naturally, I love little Drew to the moon and back. Can't believe he's seven already!!

It's not very little boy, but he'll like the colors and better yet, the present that accompany's it! I didn't have a number stamp that would work with my idea, so I generated the whole card, except for the MFT frame, on my Silhouette. EZPZ lemon squeezy.

Next card is going to Freshly Made Sketches and City Crafters Challenge. It's "Tutti Frutti" at CCC.

Here's my card:

The little cherry from AE was feeling neglected, so I pulled her out! I made the red gingham on my Silhouette, cut a white circle with my WPlus9 die, and popped the little sweetie up next to the AE sentiment. Then a scrap of red and three white sequins. Still pretty EZPZ.

(Still with me?) (Hope so!)

Next I've got a card for two more challenges. Color Throwdown, and the CAS Mix-Up Challenge.

Smooshing. Very scary for me, as I'm not big on 'messy' techniques. I calmed my fears by using a big piece of Saran wrap on my counter. Take a peek:

Now the color looks goofy here, but they really do match the CT colors pretty well. I smooshed some LF Celery Stick dye ink onto the Saran wrap and sprayed a smidgen of water. Then I just laid my cardstock chunk on top of it and smooshed away. Oh. My. Gosh!! It worked even better than I'd hoped!! And no mess! Once it dried, I cut a section with an AE die, added some AE bitty hearts, and a Savvy 'hello,' and some clear sequins.

And last, but not least, I've got a card for The Heart Desires challenge. This card took top honors, thank you sooooo much, and since I fell in love with the current Mood Board, I had to play along!

This small photo doesn't do it justice. Please head over and see all the wonder in a larger format, as well as all the gorgeous cards by the DT! For my card, I concentrated on the top and bottom left photos.

I wish you could see this in person; it's much prettier irl... Since we have been recycling some old books, I found the maps there and thought, "why not?!" I cut a world map panel and punched some hearts with other maps. That's an MFT die, and a Studio Calico sentiment heat embossed in gold. Still EZPZ, but (if you don't mind me saying so) I love this card. And because this was so full of cards and photos, I'll stop for today. As always,

What lovely cards Dev!! I love the simplicity of the first card and the gray/red color scheme. I ADORE the gingham on the second card. You did this on the Silhouette? I need to pull mine out and utilize better!! Even though you say you do not like messy techniques, your smooshing is fabulous. Isn't Saran Wrap fun? Love how it came out. Your last card is FABULOUS!! I LOVE the map!!! Totally lovely creations!!! You rocked it!!

Fingers, legs, and eyes crossed that my comment will stick; trying a little something different (technology is just plain old weird sometimes!). Okay...woo hooooo! A deck o' cards that has me smiling brightly from ear-to-ear! Drew will adore his multiples of 7s card and yes, he and my Ms. T really ought to meet at some point, give they're both March birthday-ers and the same age. Who knows what might happen *grin*. How darling the petite cherry, with her sweet smile and little appendages! She'd be safe from being eaten at my place; too cute! Your upcycled maps card: fantastic! I've been eyeing my husband's collections of maps and atlases for this very challenge, too. I'm sure he won't notice a piece missing here and there! Need to remind myself to do some scouting before the challenge closes! And now, for your smooshing....Saran Wrap? Really! Oh my! That's what I should have been using for my Ink DT card, especially since mom had a Costco super-sized role pretty much within arms reach! If only I'd thought of that, I might have saved paper and my mom from my, well...sometimes colourful expressions...as I wrangled with a piece of acetate. You just 'may' have convinced me to give smooshing another go sooner than I anticipated! Okay, committing to the comment, in the hopes it stays in place for longer than an hour!
Hugs, love and mega misses~c
PS. Thank you soooo much for the comments on Ms. T and Mr. C's artwork...they're all giggly with joy!

I'm so glad you've had time to get crafty, Bev, because you have four beauties here. I love the simplicity of Drew's birthday card and that cherry is lovely. Smooshing is something I love so I'm glad you tried it. The saran adds some extra texture that looks fabulous. The map card is genius. I think I see another winner. The colors are what caught my eye, so soft and pretty, and the little hearts in the window are so perfect for the challenge.

Love the graphic card for Drew, the colors but also the background you created with the 7s!
The cherry card is adorable and your smooshed background looks very cool (have to try that).
The last one is my favorite, thought, because I love maps! Don't know why I don't use them more often in my crafting...

What a fun bunch of cards! I once used saran wrap with some glaze to create a textured effect on a picture frame so I don't know why it never occurred to me to try the same thing with cardstock and ink. Glad your experiment worked out the way you wanted!

Oh my, what a treat, Bev ... four of your gorgeous cards in one single post ... sigh! Drew will love his crisp, graphic and manly (boyly???) card ... that little cherry is such a sweetie (had to say it!), and of course I adore the sentiment ... your smooshed background is positively swoon worthy ... and how clever is the map with those sweet punched hearts, it puts me in mind of flight paths across the ocean and meeting up with wonderful friends! So delighted you joined us for our 3rd brithday celebrations at Time Out! Miss you heaps, my sweet friend, hugs & bisous, Anita :)

What a fun mix!! Boys are so hard - but I'm inspired by your graphic look! Your cherry will definitely make someone smile. So perfect with the hint of gingham. I haven't tried the smooshing - at first I thought your background was a big graphic flower - how fun that you got that look with saran wrap!
